A superb opportunity has become available within our award winning Career Development Service to welcome a new Associate Director (Employer Relations) into the team. It will be the responsibility of the Associate Director to lead all strategic and operational aspects of the Career Development Service in close partnership with the Director and Deputy Director. The purpose of this leadership role is to enable the Service to provide all University of Leicester students with the support and opportunities they need to enable them to achieve the graduate job or further study that they want. This will involve close working with stakeholder groups including academic departments, employers, Students Union, alumni and parents.

You will be responsible for the implementation of the employability vision and strategy – working closely with the Director and Deputy Director to ensure that the vision is realised and so to ensure the University’s performance in graduate destinations complements its performance in other league table indicators.

As a visible and influential member of our team, we will rely on you to build long lasting, impactful and mutually beneficial relationships with local, national and international employers. You will also take responsibility for the line management of the resourcing solutions focussed teams to ensure they are clear of what is expected of them and have the appropriate support to deliver their part of the employability vision and strategy.

As the successful applicant, you will join us with significant experience in a management role, preferably in higher education or graduate recruitment context. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to apply strategic thinking, vision and analytical skills and will be confident in your ability translate strategy into achievable and measurable operational outcomes. This role requires an individual with excellent   interpersonal skills who can establish effective working relationships with colleagues, academic staff, students, employers, suppliers and other both inside and outside the university.
